24 Hours of PRE-SERVICE Training must be completed prior to being hired as a Homecare Aide or a Homecare Aide Substitute, which is offered at no cost to you. You will receive a certificate upon successful completion of Pre-Service Training.

As part of the hiring process a Criminal History Background Check is mandatory for everyone who applies for employment with Community Care Systems, Inc. A live fingerprint scan must be completed within 10 days from date of hire.


Homecare Aide

Job Summary:  Under the direct supervision of the Service Coordinator and/or Field Supervisor, the Homecare Aide assists participants with and performs activities of daily living. A Homecare Aide maintains, strengthens, and safeguards the functioning of individuals in their own homes when no responsible and capable person is available for this purpose, in accordance with the authorized plan of care.


Qualifications:

  • A High School diploma or general education diploma, or
  • One year of Homecare Aide/Chore-housekeeping direct service staff work experience in the Community Care Program, or in a comparable human service program; or for a dependent child or adult family member; or 
  • Demonstrate continued progress towards meeting the educational requirements of a general educational diploma by current registration and evidence of successful completion of course work (grade of “C” or higher)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic knowledge of home management skills.
  • Proof of current auto insurance and current drivers’ license.

 

Homecare Aide Substitute

Job Summary:  The Homecare Aide Substitute is under the direct supervision of the Area Administrator or his/her Service Coordinator. Homecare Aide Substitutes perform all functions of the Homecare Aide position, i.e., service participants when Homecare Aide is absent. 


Qualifications:
 

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • One year of Homecare Aide direct service work experience in the Community Care Program or in a comparable human service program; or for a dependent child or adult family member, or; 
  • Demonstrate continued progress toward meeting the educational requirements of a General Education Diploma (GED) by current registration and evidence of successful completion of course work (grade of “C” or higher); and
  • Possess good home management/housekeeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate in both written and oral forms for instruction of other workers, maintaining records and communicating with participants/supervisors.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of participants’ needs.
  • Reliable transportation available to/from participants’ homes and ability to provide transportation/escort for participant to/from errands and/or medical appointments.
  • Proof of current auto insurance and current drivers’ license.
